Uppsala is a typical summer city, it can be incredibly beautiful in the summer. For a city of approx. 200 000 inhabitants, it has large areas for nature and outdoor activities. A very intimate city on several sets. It is normal to hear people in Uppsala complain and whine that it is impossible to get to know people and that the social life in Uppsala is closed. But often when you hear this complains it’s from someone who’s not born in Uppsala. If you meet a real Uppsala citizen, you will experience a very "non-Swedish" person, positive and outgoing. Just do not make the mistake to say that Uppsala is a university city.
For your information – Uppsala is an old industrial city. In my opinion, Uppsala is a very pleasant town in the summertime.
